AMTK #8 at Bandera on MILW detour

A washout on BN's Stampede pass line has caused rerouting of Amtrak's Empire Builder onto the MILW between Seattle & Easton WA. #8 near Bandera.
I thought #8 and #7 ran on the Scenic Sub. When did it start running on the Scenic Sub?

Wow!!! What a great photo.

The Empire Builder began running via Wenatchee in 1981, IIRC. The Portland section was started at that time. Part of the the justification for the new Portland Builder was that service to Pasco was retained, and the only cities to lose Amtrak service were Ellensburg and Yakima.

That is SO COOL! When I saw the thumbnail I knew the exact spot. Very cool - thanks for sharing it with us!
