Those are the Geeps that do the dirty switching and local work over in Martinez at the Ozal yard, mainly tank cars for the area's several refineries. Every Sunday they run light over to the Oakland yard for servicing and then back to Martinez for another week's hard work.
I have always thought the golden hills are a great backdrop for the BNSF. It really sets off the orange and green.
Why I am glad I'm not back in Sacramento.
Instead of chasing trains this weekend, I stay in the back yard

For all the rain you got this winter, the hills have gotten their signature Golden State look once again.

It never takes long to go from green to "gold". Expecting 100+ this weekend.

I just had my first Kentucky Mule last weekend. Dang it was good. My usual go to bourbon drink is a Manhattan.

The UP line has a lot bigger variety of power. Here an SD70M leads a mixed freight along the bay
