An ex-KCS SD40-2 on Green Street

Man what a time I had balancing the white in this picture! I know there's little red left in it, but there's only so many days in a week! I may be wrong on this units heritage. Please correct me and I'll edit the picture. This could actually be a SOO engine given the red handbrake etc.
Nope, it's pure KCS. There's few features on this unit that give it away: First, there's no snowplow on this unit. KCS never had plows on their units until they ordered the AC4400CW's. Second, a thing I've noticed on KCS engines is that they wrap their handrails with yellow tape by the steps. Also, the airhorn is a Leslie S-5T. KCS was a big buyer of those when they ordered SD40-2's. Either way, it's still a great catch.

CP sure had a lot of cool leases back in the day.
