You got THAT right! I'm curious as I'd seen reports that Amtrak was retiring the Superliners and replacing them with single level cars on the western LD routes. I like the Superliners but as we've seen in the last month, Amtrak has had to cancel trains because of high winds which may cause the Superliners to tip over. Besides, you can only refurbish a car so many times, eventually the frames will succumb to metal fatigue.
The projected lifespan of these new cars seems a bit optimistic, what with the quality of work produced today.
