So I went to a bnsf interview....went though all the steps and interviewed. The next day, I got a conditional letter of employment. When I filled the app out, it asked me for my driving record so I called my insurance agent and had him give me everything that was on my record without thinking about it( which was one speeding ticket back in 2011).While at work today, I was thinking about it and it dawned on me that it was asking for 7 years of driving records. I forgot to put on a seat belt ticket I got a few years back. In the state I live in, a seatbelt ticket doesn't go on my insurance report. Do I need to be worried about this or am I ok still. I have no dui or anything like that. Thanks for the help guys!!
I don't think this is a problem since a seat belt violation isn't a moving violation. I think the intent is to discover moving violations which would indicate a pattern of reckless disregard for oneself and the public.
The BN, like UP and all the rest of the class 1's are more interested in dui's and major moving violations. A lot of the jobs in the respective mechanical departments require a valid license and in some cases, CDL. Your seat belt ticket being omitted shouldn't hurt you. But don't mention it, either. Unless they ask. Which they most likely won't.
