Caught a large power move of 20 units, it had UP 5290, 5436, 7428, 5479, 8630, and switchers UPY 1373, 1363, 1357, 1365, 1362, 1391, 1377, 1374, 1387, 1392, 1384, 1381, 1369, 1371 and 1425.

All are MP15DC's except the last switcher which is a MP15AC.

I've heard, the switchers are being sold for scrap

Below is a link, to a video I took (sorry bout the quality, the digital camera I used, has limited settings, If anyone would like to try and enhance it,let Me know)

They have been stored in Grand Junction, CO for several months and are headed to auction. Considering what is still here, in GJ, there may be more to follow.

On the BNSF, we have rule that we can only move 12 units in MU operations. I wonder how many of those units were just setup like cars and how many were actually MUed?

There is another eastbound E move that left Grand Junction, CO this morning. Five road units pulling 14 switchers. Do not have specifics(unit numbers) at the moment.

None of those were headed to scrap. All were destined for East St.Louis,Illinois for auction that just took place on October 22. The auction included 54 various UP MP15DC's, MP15AC's and MP15N's as well as 50 C40-8's.
