I grew up the son of a CN engineer in Smithers, BC. My weekends and summer were spent riding the head end with my father. My father, Ken, was washed into the Skeena River on November 2, 1978 and died with his conductor, Frank Watson. I collected photos and info for years and designed a website, www.trainwreckof78.ca, in their memory.

My recent project is trying to find out about a CN derailment which happened about 10 years ago and apparently the locomotives were left in the canyon. An employee of HP has asked me if I am aware of this and I told him I would research and get back to him. If anyone on this forum has any info I would sure appreciate it.

It's really only appropriate for that forum if it has photos in the message (not just a link to photos). I moved it to the "Railroad Websites" since it's a link to a website.

To be honest, that's mostly a matter of housekeeping. According to the logs, the vast majority of members browse the website by clicking "active topics" or "new posts" in the toolbar above. The categories are only important when folks are searching for a specific subject.

Also, while it hasn't generated a lot of replies, it has been viewed over 100 times already.
