Did any of the major railroads in Texas in the 1950-80s have critter loco on their roster ? T&P, SantaFe, T&NO etc etc

Check Kalmbach's first Diesel Spotters Guide. The Tex-Mex Railroad used some pioneering diesels in the 30's and 40's which might fall into the "critter" category. The Santa Fe and Southern Pacific also purchased some unique Baldwin monster double engine transfer units. I'll have to check to see if any of them were ever used in Texas.
