A first for me - an SD39. I've seem a couple before, but always on the fly. This one surprised me, the 3rd unit on a northbound BNSF manifest at Kalama, WA. Can I assume it was a Pasco-Interbay train, moving the SD39 from Pasco to Interbay for service?
Amtrak Cascades Train #506 races north after crossing over from Main #1 to Main #2 at MP 111 crossovers. The train is about 10-12 minutes away from it's next stop at Kelso, Washington. The sun just happened to show when the train was coming into view, so I converted it into black & white.
Oakway #9031 leading a BN green SD40-2 on it's journey to the ports of Portland, Vancouver or Kalama.. This grain train had a whole rainbow mix of grain hoppers with the mineral red cars starting right behind the power.. It was interesting to see just two units pull this 14,000 ton grain...
