    Almost Carlton Trail

Identical sister units 2674, 2683, 2686 & 2687 were utilized on the Meadow Lake branch prior to its demise. I even spotted them on the HBR in the Pas this summer, but didn't bother getting #s down or taking pictures as I've already seen him & sister 2135 in Denver working on the UP.

One CN, the other BCOL. As we were standing side by side our photo's turned out identical, so I'll...
  7. CBNS tanker train!

    CBNS tanker train!

When there isn't a lot of traffic it's possible to see a pure tanker train on CBNS like this one. That doesn't happen often however as ussually in addition to the tankers there are coal cars, scrap gondolas, hoppers and boxcars! The asphalt you see in the foreground is the former VIA station...

A nearly 40 car train comes to and end. It's unusual to see PROX cars on the back, as ussually its GATX or the green coal cars.

    A survivor form 1946!

Build in 1946, went into service in 1947, most of the fleet retired in 1973. Looking at how well it is preserved, I'm guessing it spend the last 30 years in a sliding somewhere. Now it's at the scrapyard, waiting to be scrapped. I've seen a lot of relics there, but this has to be the best!
