How do train crews get time to eat when on duty? Are they allowed to go to the nearest fast food joint by the tracks if time allows? I recently heard a UP freight in a siding waiting for MoW to clear up and they asked if they had time to get food.
Thanks for your input!

If you were a kid growing up in the Twin Cities area during the 1960's, you'd be treated to a locally produced TV show called: Lunch With Casey. It was one of the best local TV shows ever produced in the area, and I found a video clip of one of my favorite memories of that show--take a look:
This is the companion photo to the one I posted previously showing the engineer (Lynn Nystrom) disembarking from UP844 after arrival at Coffeyville, KS on 04/24/2010. I will dedicate this photo to the memory of UP steam engineer Lynn Nystrom, who reportedly passed away on May 5, 2010. RIP
I can't tell if the Engineer is posing or flipping me off. Well whatever he is doing, he is deffinatley aware of the fact that I have a Camera. CN 2230 and 2 other General Electrics move CN 115 to Calgary.
The engineers from the Coast Starlighr between SAC-KFS are seen below the locomotive (AMTK 120) they just got out of, another crew will be taking care of it to SJC.
My engineer for the day blows the horn approaching a crossing outside of West Irving Station. I wish I had learned his name. He was a really nice guy. If you know this man, please e-mail me.
