    This train was topping the Blues at Kamela. As I was watching the train go by, I saw what appeared to be a hot bearing. It turned out to be an open hopper door instead. I wonder what the customer will think when his "loaded car" has a lot less load inside?

    Amtrak's northbound Coast Starlight heads around a curve somewhere between Marysville and Redding, California. This view of the train passing a signal and several other light sources was the best out of a whole roll of film taken in the frigid December air outside the Dutch door at speed.
