The weather was duly somber as McCloud River 2-8-2 #18 made what was expected to be its final excursion run on home trackage on October 17, 2004. Even the engine, already up for sale, seemed saddened at its imminent departure.
This wooden NP boxcar and MILW stock car are on display at a logging museum called Camp 18 on Highway 26 near Elsie, Oregon. Unfortunately they are not protected from the weather, but their exposure to the elements makes a good picture. Photo taken fall 2003.
