Several miles of gons and hoppers were left in Scotia, NY on the former main line that was abandoned. In the winter of 1977 due to the famous blizzard we had many old rail cars to look at. These cars were filled with Buffalo snow and sat in Scotia until spring.
An Amtrak turbo flies through the Sandbank Yard in Scotia, NY. The yard had just closed in August 1978 but the shanty was still being used by a clerk and MOW crews.
