Even though I dont look like im hard at work, I am. I'm on a ENLHO-12 just north of Bearden AR waiting for Maintenance In The Way to clear the track. I remembered this months photo assignment and figured, why not.
I had been wanting to see and hear one of these since they came into production. On 11/23/04 I got my wish. The 5699 and the 5697 came in on a MSKPB and parked at the roundhouse in Pine Bluff.
Even though the skies were grey, this unit still stood out.
The sun shines down on a grand ol' set of power. The McGehee Local (LWS55) uses this for their power. This was the only time the sun came out. The man upstairs saw it fit for the sun to shine down on the best railroad there was in the US.
This old CNW GP7 has seen many years of service and ended its career here in Arkansas. Now it sits idle and rusted in Pine Bluff looking over the mainline it served thinking "What the hell happened to my rr"
