MKT Heritage Unit UP 1988

The MKT Heritage unit follow it's MoPac brother through Valley Jct Texas.
Did MKT have a paint scheme like this or is this just UP's version of what MKT should have looked like?

No, the MKT never did have a paint scheme like this. The MKT shield on the nose and the "The Katy" symbol are from different eras on the railroad. From my understanding one of the shades of red are from the freight diesels and one from the passenger units. The star on the nose is from the Texas Special Passenger units. The MKT also had a Green and Yellow scheme in it's last years.
