Light Move Back To Gantt's Jct., AL

A light cut of three motors that include the two new GP-40's moves on the EARY's tracks out of Sylacauga and back to the home base at Gantt's Jct.
GREAT shot! is this a branch line. I am surmising it is acct. of the jointed rail. At any rate, neat shot.

No, it's not a branch line. This is the EARY's main line. This is the former L&N's sounthern-most branch of the Alabama Mineral Branch railroad. This line originally came out of Guntersville, AL, swung down through Gadsden, Pell City, Anniston, Talladega, and into Sylacauga where it turned West and headed across the Coosa River over to Calera, AL where it joined the L&N South & North Alabama Sub. Now, this line runs between Gantt's Jct (were Imery's has a huge marble quarry), through Sylacauga and up to Talladega. The EARY interchanges with NS in Sylacauga and CSX in Talladga.
