The Hoosier Southern is a short line railroad running from an interchange with Norfolk Southern in Lincoln City,IN to Tell City,IN. They have four locomotives on their roster, two GP9s (One high and one short hood), and two recently acquired GP15s. I'd been over to Lincoln City on several other mornings the past few years but never had any luck catching them running. I drove up to Tell City early Tuesday morning, and seeing three of the four units sitting at Tell City, I thought I might have a chance at seeing them operate. I made it up to Lincoln City in time to see the interchange take place between NS and HOS. After a short wait, both trains headed back south on their respective lines.

After making it back to Troy I lost sight of the train, figuring they had to work some of the industries there. I followed NS back home, and while I saw several trains, nothing was moving due to an outage in Taswell, IN.
