I took EuroCity 71 "Emona" from Vienna to Ljubljana.
So much of the stone bridge at Zidani Most has not been visible for a long time thanks to the drought...
I had not been here in 3 years - new Ljubljana main station is almost complete.
Luckily they did not forget benches which are rare on many other new platforms.
SZ 363-005 in old livery towards Koper.
The new platforms could only be accessed from the street.
I boarded EC 210 "Sava" Vinkovci - Zagreb - Ljubljana - Rijeka. The line near Ljubljana was also busy with construction work.
Since Croatia joined Schengen, no passport controls are done anymore at Croatian border station Šapjane, so you can conveniently capture the engine change.

We had discovered a lovely new hotel in Lovran instead of our usual Villa Ariston. I went on a photo session to Rijeka by bus Thursday.
Nice views can be found near Krnjevo stop, first P 4802 Rijeka - Permani.
EuroNight 1277 "Adriatic Express" from Warsaw together with "Retro Istria Express" from Budapest.
Kvarner Bay view with shipyard cranes. An air conditioned Interspar and bus stop next to the photo spot in tree shade provided lovely luxury during 35+ degree heat.
B 481 "Opatija" from Ljubljana followed.
I took the bus to the other side of the city. I had found this view from a Lidl parking lot at Pećine : https://maps.app.goo.gl/NFx3J6DXaTa3iDG47
P 4000 from Zagreb passed by slowly. It had been punctual until now but lost a lot of time on this section of track.
I changed busses at Rijeka main station on the way back to Lovran and lovely grilled lignje, the rake just had reversed.

EC 70 "Emona" back home to Vienna and EC 211 "Sava" continuing to Dobova, Zagreb and Vinkovci at Ljubljana.
