Some impressions of this year's Benešov steam festival. I came to enjoy the engines, not really ambitious but looking for some good spots for a few of the specials. Sadly, one of the star trains - a former DR SVT 18.16 unit - suffered a reverser damage during its first run of the festival on Friday. I waited for it in vain at Sázava, then on Saturday evening again at Veselí nad Lužnicí. They tried to manage it but only reached the other end of Benešov station. I thank all the volunteers and supporters for their efforts and hope they can get the unit to run reliably for next season!
Most steam and diesel engines in operation and several regular locomotives were captured in action at least once. Of course everything was achieved just by train and on foot, entrance fee plus extra photo donation was paid :0)
