CPR 4-6-4 2816 stops outside the Whistler Mountaineer "station" to change pilots. I got to ride it up to Ambleside where BC 150th anniversary celebrations were being held.
One can only guess how old this boxcar really is. The original paint dates prior to script, so 1940's? Hard to believe it's still roadworthy in 2008, even if it is used as a rolling shed.
How odd he looks next to a modern IMS double-stack. No such thing when he originally rolled the country...

CPR GP38AC, 3000, races westward towards Vancouver on a freight. 3006 is the second engine. Taken on June 10, 2007. The station was buit for and used by the West Coast Express.
I was suppose to be taking pictures of my brother's Sea Cadet's end of the year ceremony. But, hey, it's not my...
On a warm summer day a forman passes by in a hi-rail, giving a good wave. I'm proud to say that this view is literally at the end of my street.
A couple months later the scene repeated with a doodlebug: http://tinyurl.com/yrrru4
A small sample of the CPR light truck fleet based in Saskatoon. About 1/3 of the fleet is hi-rail equipped.
PS. If you look carefully you can see a broom in the background, it is used to clear the nearby switch to the Sutherland West lead track and the shops, from the Prarie North line.
Typical CPR semi-truck, I see them around town all the time hauling CPPU boxes on CPPZ trailers. You can see the trucker's feet under the truck, since he's on the other side inspecting the load.
The crossbuck and Stop sign on the right, belong to the shop wye track, consists, including SD40-2...
CEFX 114, SD90MAC is leassed by UP, however he is a common visitor in Saskatoon. Why? Because seasonally UP provides their own power for unit potash trains that originate in town and end up in UP's territory. Perhaps because CP was leasing CEFX SD90MAC's themselves until recently, they prefer to...

CP 454 normally leaves Saskatoon around noon or 8pm. Today however he decided to go for 5:30pm, not a good time variance if you try to catch it like I do. The power is CP 5984-9111-5712, in three distinct CP paint shemes: Action red, beaver & dual-flags. It's odd that the units are all...
Branchline trains are supose to be boring, powered by SD40-2's on their last leggs and GP38-2's. Then this snake shows up! 4AC4400CW's with a ~124 car potash train, likely 672 from Vancouver. Normally empties like him get 3 engines, but he got 4, and they're all facing the same direction, which...
