Wichita's South Junction

This is the south junction in Wichita KS. Between south junction and north junction, the BNSF dispatcher handles all traffic, but it is otherwise the responsibility of The Wichita Union Terminal Railroad Company or the Wichita Terminal Association. BNSF, Union Pacific and Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad belong to the Association. All north and south traffic through Wichita pass through this junction. The track curving off to the left is the Arkansas City Subdivision of BNSF. The next one going straight is the Union Pacific's Enid Subdivision and the right hand track curves to the right for the Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad. It leads through an urban setting, crossing the Arkansas River and finally leads to the yard at the K&O shops on west Harry street. There are numerous industrial and warehouse businesses nearby.
