I have to ask this is a fallen flag but how did RVSC get a hold of them? I know the RVSC goes to Rio Grande City but it ends. I know it goes south to Hidalgo City near the border, but still no way to cross. Shed some light on the subject

NdeM was unable to finance these electrics. The units were held in Brownsville with the hope that $ would come through. Eventually, NdeM lost interest in the units and removed their electric catenary system to run double stacks/tri-level autoracks. The BRG shortline in Brownsville needed more capacity so they were moved to the RVSC for storage. Eventually, the electrics went north for rebuilding or scrapping in 2008.

Thanks for the information. I had some idea of BRG being involved but asked instead. Any word on the Anzalduas bridge coming up with Rail to help KCS cross into Hidalgo? I found a article in reference to that. http://www.state.gov/p/wha/rls/133482.htm I do hope it goes through. This would be a great break RVSC has been looking for.

Thanks for the link. I was unaware that Mission has conducted talks with KCS. It would indeed be good for the valley.

I am not saying that Mission talked with KCS but there is a article mentioning Southeast of Laredo. http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/permalink/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20071024006505&newsLang=en Of course it was 2007. I am happy to have shared the article. Pass it on to others. Of course KCS may consider RVSC since Anzalduas has been built and the permit is open for rail itself. Question is will they build it?

Nice shot. Is there a housing addition that sprang up across the hwy from where they were parked? I remember pulling over on a new street to take photos. Then we said screw it and played Dukes of Hazzard in my g/f's truck and drove up to the engines to get a shot and then took off across the school grounds.

Yes, there are houses there now and then (when I took the shot). Right now there are former Milwaukee centerbeams stored there that I want to shoot, but it is a hassle to shoot across Bus 83.
