Was that the same steam engine that was on display in downtown San Antonio before the new Amtrak station was built?

Yes. It was in a city park, then moved to the front of the old SP Sunset Station, which was restored and turned into a nightclub complex.
The new Amtrak depot is right behind it, copies it's design, and uses it's original passenger loading area as seen in my "Sleepers At The Depot" photo.
