Bettendorf variety truck

The Bettendorf variety truck was the next generation of truck after the archbar variety.
The Bettendorf was ultimately replaced by the
roller bearing truck. Very labor intensive as the
Bettendorf needed lubeoil added to the journal box
at virtually every yard inspection. Maybe where the expression "hot box" originated as when the
journals ran dry of lubeoil, they got real hot.
