It had been a wonderful day of train chasing, but the best was still to come. On Tasmania's northern coast the railway runs along the shores of Bass Strait in a setting which is always scenic. This evening however, a glorious and lingering sunset was the backdrop to an eastbound train led by a brace of 1950s-vintage English Electric locos. This was just one of a series of slides I was able to take of this train before the light eventually faded.

Note: This scan does not really do the slide justice but it's one of those that seem to really push the capability of my scanner.
