Amtrak F59PHI 455

Amtrak F59 455 makes a rare appearance in Chicago waiting to be assigned to a train, most likely heading for California.
Either the Zeypher for the Surfliners or the Empire Builer for Cascade service in the northwest.

Thanks for the info, Kyle. I'm guessing this one was overhauled recently and is just stopping by Chicago on its way back west.

We've had alot of those recently out here. It's nice though to see more than just a typical talgo set!

The 455 and 456 were just overhauled, so yes this is the "new" 455. Heres what the 455 looked like before overhaul. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=144813

Nice shot! That doesn't look a thing like 455 does now. The paint looks like a mess in that shot before overhaul. Almost looked brand new at 18th Street. It will most likely be heading back your way now.
