It's one of thoes times that makes you wanna say "So close, but yet so far." That was the first CN SD40-2 I've seen in months...oh well. CN 2226 and 5382 head up a Westbound at Riverview. The train had a bulkhead container with wheels on it. I hate signal 1893 with a passion now...

Yes CN SD40-2's are rare. Much more rarer then the CP ones! LOL. The reason for this is that CN purchased their SD40-2's with a widecab, and then later in the 90s when UP was selling their "junk" CN bought regular SD40-2's from them.

Yep. Back in 1994, CN bought a bunch of old Mopac SD40s. They took em' to Alstom and built them up to "-2 standards". CN only rosters 24 of the units.
