Although I did not get a picture, the Governor of California rode on the Train of Lights. Governor Jerry Brown rode in the last public car he tried to walk all the way through but too many people wanted to stop to talk to him.
B & B Steam is refurbishing out Clover Valley #4 locomotive, They came out to pull her rods off and do some local repairs.

The Tea Train looks like a scene out of Murder on the Orient Express.
Tea, sandwiches, sweets and a nice ride in an original parlor car......
Bring your Mom, sweetheart or friends for a pleasant time with great food.
Please look at the woodwork, colors and beauty of this car. When the PLA brought this car onto the Brightside Yard it was not in this shape at all.
This car ended up being paonted and used for a regular daily MOW transportation and lunch car for the MOW guys.
So the very first thing done to this car back then was to lace not one or two coats of ugly green paint but 16 COATS of paint over the Cuban Mahogany. So the Car Department started to take off a coat, then another until they finally (16 coats later off) came to the original colors and painted interior. The Golden Poppies became the art motif and the dishware was specially ordered for the NCRY.
It truly is a master piece car and the wood is beautiful.
I apologize for the web page being outdated but here is the link for the Parlor Car.....

Having tea in the parlor car looks more fun than attending a royal wedding.
Every Halloween the Sunol School does a short walk to the Sunol station to celebrate Halloween. All the kids are in costume and the NCRY volunteers come out with an engine all dressed up too!
This machine was test run on the railroad tracks. It measures elevations and makes a chart for use in seeing how level the rails are.
So the entire MOW group *6 to 8 every Wednesday) and a lot more people came out to see this working. BART, CalTrain, some other government agencies also spent the day with this machine.
