Anyone do any Night Railroad Photography? I wish I could find time to do more but it just never seems to work out. May be when it starts getting darker earlier. I have a blast doing it and you can get some really cool photos.
Night photography opens a whole different world and presents some fun challenges. I enjoy shooting at night. Examples of my night work can be founnd here.
I shoot night shots, but it is also something I desperatly need to work on right now. I am not at the point to pull off something really eye pleasing right now, as I know I need to work on this aspect.
For those of you who live in areas with passenger trains powered by the new Siemens Challenger engines, I suggest you take a few night photos of these diesels. The engine compartments are lighted and can be seen through the large grills on the side. To see what I mean, check out my photos of 3-31-18 of the Seattle-Vancouver Cascade on post #968 of the Pity Mile Post 17 thread: http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?29284-Pity-Mile-Post-17/page97
Here's a long exposure I took of a Siemens Charger locomotive at Crockett, CA. The LED headlights are super bright, and light everything up as the train approaches.
