Power for the move from Pacific Jct, IA to Clovis, NM was BNSF ES44C4 6892; train left around 5pm on Friday,11-30; it was held for 2 days in Olathe, KS because of traffic.
Driving over I got this grab shot in Lubbock, TX
Trailing unit was built as ATSF GP39-2 3629
Renumbered ATSF 3443
The middle unit is BNSF SD40-2; can't make out the road # and the lead unit is a BNSF SD70MAC in Grinstein paint.
This is a interesting use of retired covered hoppers
Train was held outside of Friona, TX Tuesday morning so that a fleet of east & westbound Z-trains could run; while waiting for it at West Texico I got a some pics.
An empty unit train of spine cars headed west
Grab shot of former ATSF C44-9W 665, middle unit on a loaded ethanol train; note the on the truck antenna
Next to the Amtrak depot in Clovis, NM off of Hwy 60W
Down the street is this beauty; built 3-1906
Driving through the Clovis Yd looking for our machine I got this
This was stored/parked at the westend of the turntable near the car shop
Built as a BN 376 (SW1000)
