So I was out playing with my new 100-400 zoom lens when the Zephyr came by with two UP executive cars in tow. Kind of neat to see and I wish I had a different lens on the camera and I could have gotten better shots, but I did the best I could with the big zoom and thought people might still like to see...
The train was the westbound Zephyr heading by the Eckley fishing pier near Crockett California, almost to its final destination at Emeryville, on Wednesday afternoon. The UP stores of bunch of these cars in the Oakland yard, I will try to get some photos the next time I am down that way.
Can't see the tail car in this one..
This is about where I actually realised they were back there...
This is about the best view I could capture of them, pulled all the way in to 100mm. I belive they were named Sunset and Stanford, but that is from memory.
This is at full zoom as the train heads away, entering the C&H sugar complex in Crockett, about a quarter of a mile down the tracks.
