I am looking at the Hulcher jobs in tulsa and i was wondering if anybody here or if anybody knows anybody who works for them? Do they make good money i do know that they work sometimes 13 to 18 hrs without sleep.
No personal experience, nor do I know any one who works for them.
I would think they would be well paid considering they are basically a 'rapid response team', need a lot of experience with heavy equipment, and may have to work in hazmat situations. Just the work itself can be hazardous. Think of righting a 286,000 pound car and getting it rerailed. One mishap could cost a life; more than one if something goes wrong and hazmats are involved. Lots of backbreaking work involved.
Railroads rely on firms like Hulcher because if a main line is closed their revenue stream is interrupted. They are willing to pay the price to get it back in service ASAP. I would think Hulcher employees are paid accordingly.
Mike Rowe should have went to work with them on his show "Dirty Jobs". Because those people are all kinds of nasty by they time they are finished.
If your still looking to work for hulcher let me know ill give you an update on that as I worked for RJ Corman Derailmant...

That is an excellent suggestion and one i must admit never thought of till now.
That would be a very interesting episode!
