Where is the Omaha Posse?

Railroadforums.com is a free online Railroad Discussion Forum and Railroad Photo Gallery for railroaders, railfans, model railroaders and anyone else who is interested in railroads. Oreapolis had a little action on a brisk Sunday afternoon. BNSF 5671 is doing its best Alco impersonation in the third shot. Not photographed were two nb manifests on UP's Falls City Sub which crosses at a diamond just to the rear (west) of the train in the first shot.

Went out during the snow storm on Sunday. I heard on the scanner that "Air Force 1 was coming down the east lead". I assumed it was UP 4141 but too snowy to go driving around the UP yard. The 8838 is tying up the whole south end of Council Bluffs and doing a crew change. It is stopped at 16th St. on the old CB&Q.

Tom-someone was pulling a funny, 4141 has been stored at the North Little Rock shops and was activated from there for the trip direct to Spring TX.

Tom-it just occurred to me that there is a truck mounted blower labeled Air Force One that I've seen in the past used to clear snow from turnouts. That would make sense given Sunday's snowfall.

Light power move today as it was about to go under Council Bluffs Broadway overpass.

1 from today. I think it is the Bayard on the wye at the south end of Council Bluffs. Camera didn't want to focus and I was sitting along a busy Hwy so I couldn't stay too long. And one from last week. Job 68, ?, switching on the original UP main line at 25th street.

Today's catch in Bellevue NE. Had hoped for better sun, but MOW issues to the north delayed arrival.

I don't think moving over would help. It's just the way the UP Shield fits on that front end. The other shots from today are just super.

Just after the official solstice time I caught the IAIS 516 and 500 in Council Bluffs. Fog shrouded the town but here is the moon from last night. Happy Holidays to all.
