Well, most interesting! I went back to the railroad station today for the brief half hour spare I had and saw some activity with this large unit. The 16 wheel car was shuttled off to a side track sitting there. There was briefly a power company van there. There was a crane so huge being set up that the boom for the crane was a truckload and there were 2 smaller cranes lifting it into place. The counterwieghts and lifting mechanism were 3 more semi trailer loads!
That one looks like a power transformer, and about 3 times the size of this one. Its about 60,000 kVA, and was bought as a spare at a place where I used to work.
I hope you can get some shots of the rig that shows up for the transporting part of the move. It should b quite impressive.
Wow, not only did I get a couple more pictures, I got some amazing video of the whole rolling out of the station sequence that will be linked as soon as it is uploaded to youtube.
