The UP "Government Affairs Special" left Austin at 9:30 this morning, in the Texas Eagle's slot, heading north on the Austin Sub. Don't know where it's going from here. Saw it while walking the dogs next to the Sneed siding. First time I've seen the Katy unit, which is on the point. Man, she's pretty, with a good looking train behind her.

pretty sure the train is heading back to Council Bluffs, saw it come through Taylor this morning. They put it in the siding and let Amtrak run around it just north of Taylor. Last I heard train was already well north of Ft. Worth about an hour ago .

The comment about the local Texas government heroes is priceless:)
