UP 844 NC 2002 and BNSF

I covered a lot of ground today. I started at Summit in Omaha and ended the 844 chase with a flat tire in Columbus. Luckily the tire shop was across the street from where I got the flat. I could have ridden home on the donut spare but I wanted to go take some more pictures. Besides $30 for a tire and I didn't have to change it was OK. I'll try to get these in some chronological order.

Coal Eastbound before 844


844 while kids peer out to see


844 heads west into the Nebraska summer. The sun was bright and almost overhead most of the day. Deep blue sky.


After the flat was fixed I heard the Nebraska Central heading north at a rail burning 10 MPH

Over to Fremont for a north bound BNSF train

A quick stop at the Dairy Queen in Valley for an almost too much chocolate "French Silk Blizzard" and then on to Ashland

At Ashland was DPU on a coal empty.


Sneaking in behind was another coal empty. Waiting for.....?
