W/B through Maryhill, WA about 11:20. I didn't catch the lead locomotive number.
About 100 new shiny tank cars with a buffer car at each end. 2 + 2 power.
Should be passing through Vancouver, WA about 14:30. I expect it will make its way north from there to Anacortes.
Looks like that train passed through Auburn, without stopping, at 7:15 this evening. Didn't see the whole thing, but the cans I saw looked real shiny.
Don't recall many unit oil cans passing through these parts.
Yup,
Got the Unit Oil train today at Stevensen. Great shot for this westbound move of this.
CuestaGrader OUT.

That was 4518 on the point. This morning I was flying back from Idaho by way of the Snake and Columbia rivers, and passed the train near Finley. I stopped for fuel at Hermiston, then passed it again at Paterson.
Shall we flip a coin for the return route over the Cascades?
Stevens or Stampede?

Not the best image, but here's the head end of that train from about 1200' above.
Here comes another one. Past MP-120 on the Fallbridge about 14:40. Lead unit is the 5007.
There was one in Auburn Yard this afternoon (10/1). Presumably the same one.
I caught a SB empty in Marysville on Wednesday. Every car in the train had either an 02-12 or 03-12 built date.
1. 7606 leads SB oil empty's in Marysville.
2. Tanks, tanks, tanks rolling through Bridge 38.
Cool pictures, Jon.
That is really a sight to see, isn't it. Some how much more impressive than just a string of coal or grain hoppers. Almost sinister looking.
Thanks John. Yeah - very different - and it smelled like crude.
