OMAHA, NEBRASKA, APRIL 6, 2016
Union Pacific Railroad's social-media based high school photo safety campaign is a 2016 Telly Awards Bronze winner. The campaign urges photographers and high school seniors to refrain from taking photographs on or near railroad tracks.
Through startling videos, Union Pacific compares the dangers of snapping photos on tracks to posing for senior pictures on a busy road. Neither are safe locations. The campaign airs exclusively on social media channels. Union Pacific worked with St. Louis-based Geile/Leon Marketing Communications to develop the creative.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
A judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals judged the competition, evaluating entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Less than 10 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor. Approximately 25 percent of entries are chosen as Bronze Telly winners.
