Union Pacific Tops Fortune’s Most Admired in Industry

OMAHA, NEB., FEBRUARY 19, 2016

Union Pacific was named the most admired among trucking, transportation and logistics companies by Fortune for the sixth year in a row, marking the thirteenth time in 17 years the company has been named No. 1. The magazine's annual World's Most Admired list is published in the March 1 edition, available on newsstands Feb. 22.

Union Pacific ranked No. 1 in seven performance areas identified by Fortune:

  • Innovation
  • People management
  • Use of appropriate assets
  • Quality of management
  • Financial soundness
  • Long-term investment
  • Quality of products and services

"Every Union Pacific employee plays a role in delivering an excellent experience for our customers, a critical element in our company's success," said Lance Fritz, Union Pacific chairman, president and CEO. "Focusing on world-class safety, innovation, teamwork, productivity and maximizing our franchise creates value for all Union Pacific stakeholders and competitive advantages for our customers, stability for employees, sustainable returns for shareholders and economic strength in our communities."

The Korn Ferry Hay Group, Fortune’s research partner, surveyed executives, directors and analysts to select companies they admired most from a list that began with approximately 1,500 international and domestic companies.
