Union Pacific Railroad has been named a U.S. leader for disclosing quality climate change related information through CDP. "Detailing emissions and energy data, Union Pacific is committed to participating in global discourse on the most effective approaches to addressing climate change, while supporting a thriving economy," said Joel Strafelda, Union Pacific general manager-Environmental Management. "Our environmental sustainability initiatives reinforce how we adapt and innovate to safely meet the nation's dynamic freight transportation needs."

In its seventh annual CDP disclosure, Union Pacific highlights how it is managing infrastructure, equipment and operations through innovation and training to increase fuel efficiency. The railroad again shared its approaches to responsible water management, completing the CDP's water questionnaire.

The company maintained its B rating in CDP's performance band, on an A to E scale.
