I live in Manhattan (between Menoken and J.C.) and I have noticed that there are morning trains, and evening trains. 11am-5pm, I don't see many trains. I can see the tracks from my job (every time I hear a horn, I go out front and watch the coal go east), and have noticed these traffic patterns, lately.

Are there curfews on the salina sub these days?

Is this in my head, am I just imagining that nothing is going on in the middle of the day?

Early this morning, I saw hoppers going west and coal (big surprise) going east. I did spy one other train around noon, (I was working, don't know what time) I forgot if it was east or westbound, but that was the only one I noticed.

Let's go Uncle Pete! Get this way maintained and continue to spread a little bit of Powder River Basin all over the country.

As I'm browsing the forum, I hear one rolling by right now. Well, I can't hear it rolling, but I hear the horn. You know what I mean.

I heard it at 6:24 pm, so today's curfew must (nothing is certain in railfanning) be over.

I'm giddy with excitement about tomorrow's excursion from North Platte to Gibbon to Marysville, so I'll probably post every time I hear something on the KP. I've got trains on my mind!
