I first got serious about taking locomotive photos in the 1990's. Here is a sampling of what I saw. All were taken in Beaumont and Houston, TX.

Excellent shots Mark. Too bad most of those places are off limits now.
Awesome shots Mark, especially the GP60 demo unit EMD5, I caught it a couple times in the Herington Ks yard. The '90s sure were wonderful years
Memory lane for sure. Nice pix.
Awesome set of the 90's. The first one looks like a Ex-Tex Mex unit.
I found Waldo! He's on the CNW 4169.

Would be even better with some dates on these photos.

1995-1998. These aren't digital, just scans from prints.

??? The land before time? The before time in the long long ago?
I like the pics and thank you for sharing. I can see that they are scans. I was just curious of the dates. No notes and can't remember?
Tom- That was one of my downfalls of not taking notes. Just remember the general time period.
Those are nice pictures. They really bring back the memories of how SP was leasing all types of power in the 1990s. The CIM unit (from the first photo) really got around the SP system. I have a video of it at Loomis, CA (Donner Pass) from 1994 or 95. I remember that the train crew was giving the dispatcher an earful over the scanner about having a HIGH tons-per-operative brake ratio. Yes, the crew was ticked off about the CIM unit's lack of dynamic brakes and a bunch of other rent-a-wreck issues. If I get out to CA this summer, I'll upload it to youtube.
