Tennessee Central Railway Museum to operate fall foliage excursion
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Central Railway Museum will operate its longest excursion of 2013 in October with a round-trip fall foliage excursion over the Nashville & Eastern from Nashville to Monterey. On Oct. 12, the 216-mile trip over former Tennessee Central trackage will travel through the Caney Fork River Valley and includes a 3 percent grade at Silver Point. At Monterey passengers can attend the Standing Stone Festival. The train will board at 7:30 a.m. and depart at 8 a.m. from the museum at 220 Willow Street in Nashville. Return to Nashville is scheduled for 7 p.m. Regular seating is $62 with passengers seated at a dining car table with up to four seats to a table. Passengers with regular seating may be seated with other passengers not in their party. First-class coach seating is $82, while seats in the museum’s ex-Northern Pacific Budd-built dome car is $155 with only 20 seats available. For more information, go to www.tcry.org. |
