SunCalc - Awesome Photography Tool

Just found this Awesome Tool the other day call SunCalc! Pick your day and time and it will tell you where the sun is! Perfect for lining those photo shoots!

Its awesome, just zoom in to where you are shooting and it draws a line on the map where the sun is going to be.

My favorite is "The Photographer's Ephemeris"

It's free for the Mac/Windows desktop, and available for iOs and Android at a reasonable fee. Works great, shows sun and moon and also can use various flavors of Google maps, including Aerial and Top.

when i was iOS, I had several but i only used one of them (forgot which), all were free. Now i'm android and use SunBoard, also free after sorting thru several free offerings. It overlays on a map (train lines visible!), self-locates or allows you to flyover the map, give sunrise/set and angles projected on the map for any date past/present (default) and future. Good planning tool and i use it often on the phone.

Does it have an option to show the light angle on the nose of various locomotive models?

They all do tell you the angle that the sun will be at, so you can tell if it's going to be high in the sky or low angle.

It doesn't have the option to include simulated 3D locomotives though, maybe you should write that app and sell it to foamers.
