Somewhere in the vicinity of Longview, WA along the BNSF Seattle sub, a detector annouced a train and then 'dissed it by saying "Train too slow".
Never heard that before.
How's that work, and what is supposed to be the crews response if any?

I hear that at MP124.2 on the Yakima Sub everytime the local goes by. They also seem to always trip the high-wide load message.

Detectors will not give a readout if the train is going under 10 MPH but will instead announce "Train too slow"

That's right. It happens too when a train is switching cars over a detector due to the train going too slow and stopping.
A KCS detector in my area says "train too slow...a ground inspection is required" They never do a ground inspection when they are a slow moving train.
