Steam Chaser
On Monday, I made a short day trip to the Chester Sub in southwestern Illinois. Traffic was heavy as many trains made their way up and down the line. The prize of the trip was coal train CWEAF 30 (destined for Cora Dock) with patched Southern Pacific AC4400CW #6262 and unpatched relative #266. After messing up the shot at Modoc, I raced ahead and salvaged the neat lashup at its destination of Cora. Here are the shots:

And to make it even more special, I caught the same train running back to Wyoming as an empty train through Kirkwood the very next day! Crazy luck!
