Hi -

Can someone tell me the history and value of this cast iron sign? I'd like to purchase, but don't want to overpay. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Well it looks cast iron and the post and base is missing . I am not an expert but have come across similar items , I would say its quite a common railway item as there are probably hundreds of thousands of crossing signs. I wouldnt pay more than 200 bucks and thats only if I wanted to love it the rest of my life. Thanks just my thought
