While on the Shinkansen, (Hikari going from Shin Osaka to Hiroshima), I stopped at Fukuyama to shoot the castle there. I had read that it was close to the UP platform and it is. There was about 20 minutes between Hikaris so I had plenty of time to cross over to the UP platform, make many shots, and return to the DOWN platform and catch the next Hikari to continue on to Hiroshima.
As a bonus, there were some trains passing through at high speed while I was there.

The AM sun is perfect to shoot the castle.

Good stuff. Thanks.

I have to say, though, I like the looks of the old-series Shinkansen better.

In 1964 when they first appeared, I would agree, but now I prefer the 100s and 500s, although they will soon be gone. From certain angles, the 700s are downright ugly. I call them Platypus. The angle of the one in my photo looks pretty good, though. And the 300s are in a class all by themselves - Ugh!
As you can tell, I'm not a big Shinkansen fan, except for getting someplace fast. :)
