hello! sorry for off top, i was traveling salz-paris and I'd like to ask for what used such belt under table in trains. We were arguing for all trip but didn't come to conclusion. I will be pleased if anyone answer my question.
Possibly to sharpen your straight razor although it appears too narrow. Does it hold the table or leg in a folded position?

no, table is fixed to the floor. leg probably no too! so that is the question for what it is. we thought maybe to fix dog or bag. but for dog is dangerous and bag also not the right answer.
Did all the table have belt or just you're table? It appears to be about one meter long with a metal ring at the end. Could it go back over the top of the table and attach at the wall to hold items to the table?
it's connected from below of table. Belt extends to the meter in and and retracts back . on its end located a holder or bracket in form of triangle. and it is precisely the question is where it can be attached. there are no holes and clutches for him in vagon.
